OUR ANIMALS
Our Kiko goats are bred with purpose. It’s true! We strive to breed the best Kiko goats at Cedar Springs Farm. How do we accomplish this goal? By striving to get better weight gains, higher kidding rates, and overall herd health. From herd sires to our does, we work hard to make sure our animals are top of the line. Are you looking to produce your own Kiko goats? We can give you advice on why our herd sires would be the best option for you! Take a look at the animals that call Cedar Springs Farm home and don’t hesitate to ask us any questions!
HERD SIRES
Herdsire
OLF New Zealand White is a son of Goatex 62/89 (Caprinex 11/85 x Goatex 614/86) by GSK Alexis Blue (SKY 215 Xclusively Blue x HFK Annie). He brings outstanding parasite resistance to our herd and so far has had some very nice does. We took a son to the 2021 West Virginia buck test and he finished the test with a zero FEC. We look forward to see how his kids do in the coming years.

DOES
Meet our Kiko goats! These does have great maternal instincts and they help us produce outstanding goats.

DOG Gizmo is a purebred doe and is the other of the original two does. She has a great udder and is very low maintenance. She is everything we were looking for in the Kiko goat breed. Her offspring have been great and we retained her first doeling, CSP Rose who has been just as good as her mother.

GHS Sugar is a purebred doe and has been an outstanding mother. She has had twins every year that have weaned a total of 100 plus pounds. She is a really tough girl that has survived a copperhead bite. She is a very easy keeper that we have been extremely pleased with.

OUR DOGS
Our livestock guardian dogs are a big part of our goat farm in North Carolina. Cedar Springs Farm wouldn’t be the same without these hard-working pups! They do a great job of keeping predators away, which is important to us since we have coyotes, black bears, and mountain lions in our area. The dogs have bonded very well with our Kiko goats. They are practically just a part of the herd! Pyra is a purebred Kangal. Hagrid is part Anatolian Shepard, Karachan, and Great Pyrenees. They had two litters of dogs for us. Out of these litters, we kept Arya, One Sock, Queenie and Blondie. The only other outside addition we had was Norbert. He is part Kangal and Anatolian Shephard. These dogs are a great asset to Cedar Springs Farm and they work hard to keep our Kiko goats safe from unwanted predators.
