Meet Gary DeHaven, Owner Cedar Springs Farm

I always hoped that one day I would own a goat farm in North Carolina. During my youth, I spent a great deal of time on farms from my grandmother’s dairy farm to my uncle’s horse and cattle farm. I always loved spending time there and being around the animals. My dream of owning a farm was put on hold as I served 21 years in the Air Force, then another 15 years teaching and coaching in high schools. But after I was done with these endeavors, my family and I acquired the property that is now Cedar Springs Farm.

Our Kiko Goat Farm in North Carolina

I grew up in western North Carolina, and my wife spent her summers in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina at her family’s vacation home. When we started looking for a property, we were lucky to be able to find a property that bordered her family’s place. We decided raising goats would be the best option for our farm. After researching different breeds, we chose Kiko goats because of their heartiness. They have great parasite resistance, excellent growth rates, and outstanding maternal instincts, making them as low maintenance as any goat you can find. Today, our farm is full of the best bred Kiko goats that money can buy. We take pride in knowing that we can offer our customers the best goats around.
